Job summary

Working as part of the Global HR team, and as a member of the Region’s leadership team this role predominately acts as HR partner and support to the Central Region and also supporting the wider HR Team, as required. The role also has responsibility for contributing to group-wide HR projects.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Management

  • Take the lead for all hiring activity for the Region ensuring that the necessary approvals have been obtained
  • Lead new starter onboarding training
  • Manage the performance review cycle and support people managers accordingly
  • Assist people managers to prepare and maintain job descriptions
  • Support the leadership with talent management planning (eg succession planning) and related activities
  • Support people managers to identify training and development needs and source appropriate solutions, as appropriate

Employee Relations, Engagement & Compliance

  • Ensure the effective delivery of reactive and proactive HR support, providing advice and guidance on policy, processes and procedures to employees and people managers
  • Coach and support people managers in connection with HR related matters
  • Management and facilitation of formal HR processes in accordance with legislation and company policy
  • Design the process, implement and manage any restructuring activity required
  • Support the rollout and follow-up of the periodic engagement survey
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to standardise HR policies and procedures and support the evaluation of the effectiveness in support of the growing organisation proposing changes, where necessary
  • Provide support for employee safety & wellness at the respective sites within the Region

Payroll & Reward

  • Working with Finance, support the monthly payroll input process, including the first line sign-off where appropriate
  • Act as back-up to run the monthly end-to-end payroll process when needed, liaising directly with the payroll service provider for any payroll issues
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to configure employment offers in line with company guidelines and internal & external market comparisons
  • Manage the merit pay review cycle in line with the related budget & associated actions

HR Analytics, Administration & Systems

  • Management of employment documentation and system set-ups/updates in relation to the employee lifecycle
  • Provide support to ensure that all HR databases are kept up-to-date
  • Provide quarterly HR analytics for the Business Dialogue Process
  • Provide weekly and monthly headcount and HR activity metrics, as required
  • Own the monthly maintenance and publication of organisation charts for the region on a monthly basis

Central Region Leadership Team

  • Proactively participate as an active member of the leadership team providing HR expertise for people related matters.

Job qualifications


  • Educated to degree level with a professional HR qualification
  • An HR generalist with a background working in an international fast paced commercial environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of German labour law
  • Fluency in German & English
  • Talent acquisition experience
  • Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and tact & diplomacy
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Customer focused with a commercial orientation
  • Effective communication and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable experience of using analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A competent line manager coach
  • Flexible, able to adapt to change quickly with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A track record of effectively collaborating with other teams and functions
